News Letter September 2007
Thursday of this week, 20th September, we are looking forward to another visit from Beryl Jarvis who will be traveling quite a long way to share some of her vast knowledge of machine knitting with us. Beryl writes regularly for the Machine Knitting Monthly magazine and her Info Sheets are inexpensive and helpful on many aspects of machine knitting.
During this last two weeks I have been contacted by three ladies who are either new to machine knitting or are wanting to 'get back into it' and Thursday will be an opportunity for them to meet most of our other members. Of course, new members are a lifeline to any Club but, in turn, the Club represents an opportunity for new knitters and refreshers to pick up tips and ideas from other people.
In addition to 20th September we shall have an informal meeting at Woodford Pavilion starting 7.30 p.m., just for a couple of hours, on Thursday 4th October. As usual we shall have a knitting machine set up because previous meetings on these 'first Thursday of the month dates' have proved useful in demonstrating knitting techniques and solving problems.
If you are interested in machine knitting do get in touch and/or come along to one of the meetings mentioned above.
